Hi,came to start my Omega this afternoon,wouldn't start,read codes and got a code 15 which i believe is coolant temp sensor,would this prevent it from starting? it's an Omega 2.5 v6 1997 auto...thanks......Wayne

If the sensor is shorted (i.e. the resistance is lower than nominal) this would fool the ECU into thinking that it's hotter than it really is and skip the cold start enrichment.

Hi,looked a little further into this and code 15 is listed as coolant temp sensor high voltage,so would it be the sensor at fault or what's feeding it...many thanks..Wayne

Let's hope one of the grown ups can answer you correctly. I'm pretty sure that it's not the reference feed voltage (probably 5V) from the ECU that is to high. I'm just a bit too tired to figure out whether "voltage high" means short circuit or open circuit. If you're happy with disconnecting the ECU loom plug and know which pins to measure on, you'll probably find out. I think the resistance of the CTS should be around 7kohm@5 degrees.
Anyway if the CTS is out, the cold start enrichment won't work very well. Could be enough to prevent starting in cold weather.
Edit: The resistance I quoted was wrong. Should be 4712@5degrees, 3792@10degrees and 5896@0degrees.
