Hi Folks,
I've noticed that my Omega has a bit of a tapping noise from the top of the engine, on the driver's side bank of the engine.
It's not exactly loud, doesn't get any louder as the revs increase (but the tapping does get quicker in time with the revs), and nor does it get any louder under load.
Anyone any ideas??

Sounds like a sticky tappet. Try flushing the engine and replacing the filter and oil.

Cheers Richy - is this a common problem? And is it likely to cause any lasting problems??

No it should cause no issues but can get a bit annoying, i have the same on my v6 since the 3.0ltr cams were fitted. It is due for an oil/filter change v v v soon.done almost 3k since the last one. :y
