Title: Were back

Hello all just back from an enforced absence, sodding broadband died for nearly a fortnight.
According to the bulldog provisioning guy they are baffled, BT recon their kit is fine so I was told to try yet another router. Instantly got adsl sync so he assumed modem was dodgy. Strangely after that I connected my router back up and it worked fine. So you dsl experts any ideas?
Router lost sync in the middle of the night, came back for 12 hours about 3 days later then came back a week after that following a test with a different router that wasn't even set up for my isp.
Looks like theyre gonna send me a new router out so there may be a good side to it all.

Did notice you have not been around..One thinks that ones gone on holiday or something exotic not your connection gone down.. :y

Our line at work failed for a week earlier this year. Couldn't get it to re-sync. BT guy eventually came out, hooked up his lap top, connected first time >:(

Then tried our router again, connected first time.

He said sometimes something at the exchange gets a stale connection and connecting different hardware resets it :-/

Glad you're back. It's not a nice place to be to be disconnected :o

Strangely, I was thinking yesterday that The_Tigger was noticable by her absence - her posts are always reconisable by the smiley usage ;D

I looked at Bulldog over a year ago for internet connecion......was tempted by price.....but put off by customer service reviews......so chose Tiscali....just changed my package with Tiscali....was paying £15/month for 2M connection and paying BT another £10/month odd for phone line rental

Now....

2M connection......and free phone line rental.....all for £15/month  :y
