When I give the car some high revs, I get a whilstle noise, which immediately drops when revs lower. It's not wind noise.
Kevin, it's like the noise you heard, but less (now the multiram is connected!)
I've been through all vacc pipes, can see no obvious source for air leaks.
I'm at the point where I'll replace all the air related seals, any ideas? :)

I had a split breather pipe - similar noise.
Could be a plenum O ring.
Did you have the breather box off - top hat seal snapped?

Is it worse when you come off the throttle at high revs or when you've got the throttle planted?
You'll get strong vacuum when you come off the throttle (and next to none on full throttle) so that points to something on the engine side of the throttle, possible breathers or vacuum leak. If it's worse on full throttle it's more likely something in the front trumpets / ducting / airbox area. Maybe a piece of ducting split or not seated. Lack of an EML makes me think it's before the MAF.

The clue's in my post...
Not got the airbox lid on wonky or something?

Markie knows all about the airbox ;D
This is nothing new, it's always done it.
It's when the revs are climbing, it's hush when you come off the throttle :)

Nothing we've bu66ered at the weekend then. ;)

That'll be when the air flow is greatest rather than the vacuum. Something before the throttles, most likely.
