Title: 2.0 cd estate sitting high at the rear

My recently purchased 98 2.0cd estate seems to sit too high at the rear with huge gaps between the wheels and arches is this normal. I was going to cure this by fitting suspension of a mv6 but have been told it won't fit is this correct, ifso can anything else be done.

Do you have the rear suspension level control system on your car?
If you have, you'll have a compressor fitted in the right hand front
wheel arch and an air line going to valves on each of the rear adjustable
shock absorbers.
If so, you may have a fault in your system.

If not, have you a tow bar fitted? The previous owner may have uprated
the shocks and springs for towing?

It doesn't have a towbar fitted but may of had in the past I will see if I can tell and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have the self levelling suspension as it is only a 2.0 cd model.

it wont have self levelling on it bud and mv6 springs will fit no worries !!  :y

I would have thought that an Estate would be more likely to have the level
control system than a Saloon, due to it's greater load capacity ability?

Whether this was an optional extra, or included with the trim level, I don't
know. Easier enough to check for, anyway.

Measure your ride height and post up the figures. Other Estate owners
on here can then post theirs up for comparison for you.

I'm at in hull work and won't be home untill thursday but I will check more into it then. I think levelling suspension was only fitted to cdx models and above.

Had a dig around and came up with the following link. Don't know how
accurate it is, but it does purport to come from a Vauxhall press release.
According to this, ride height control is an optional specified extra, and
not to do with trim level.

Anyway, proof of the pudding is in the eating, so you'll soon see if you
have the ride height control, or if someone has fitted uprated springs
or adjustable shocks when you get back on Thursday.
