Title: Tech 1 - Tech 2, whats the diffirences

Hello,
Can someone tell me what is the diffirence between a Tech 1 and a Tech 2. I've been looking on eBay for an adaptor to connect my laptop to the plug in the fuse box under the steering wheel but all the one's on eBay say from 1997 onwards and my car is a 1996 elite 3.0 v6, can anyone help!!!!!!!

Tech1 does cars up to 97, Tech2 does ones from 97 on.

I doubt you'll get either from ebay, certainly not for sensible money. What you may get is the cheapo tech2 lead for laptops. This is NOT the same as a proper Tech2.

My (real) tech2 can talk to all systems on Project TB1 - a 1996 v6 CD. It talks to some systems on Tunnie's 95 Elite. Not sure if the cheapo tech2 lead does...
