Title: alarm system problem
Post by: max23261 on 07 December 2007, 19:09:22
hi guys,  have a prob with my alarm system. i use the key fob to lock the car ok and usually there is no problem. the prob i do have is every time it is windy the alarm goes off.i reset it and ok for a little while then goes off again. it is very annoying and only happens when it is windy.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

This might sound stupid but this happened on an old cav that i had and traced it to the fact that in windy weather if i left the air vents open it would set the internal sensors off and the alarm will sound. if not then try disconnecting the power sounder under the scuttle  on the drivers side as these often cause alarm probs.

Try pressing the alarm button on the dash prior to leaving the vehicle and setting the alarm, this will omit the Ultra Sonics and prove or disprove the activation...  also, so I believe, 'cause I've read it on here...  the bonnet switch will sometimes either go faulty, or, the bracket bends and causes an activation....
