Hi everyone,
I've got Omega 2.2 16V petrol with manual gearbox, Y-reg. Car is not running properly, cause during a driving you can feel turbulence and the engine management control is on. I was in Vauxhall service in Northampton, they conected to computer and said that there is no any errors codes.
I saw this website: http://theboy.omegaowners.com/tech2/prices.shtml but I don't know how contact with this guy. Maybe somebody knows how to contact with him.
Thanks Adam

I've heard of that bloke, he's meant to be quite good, pops in here 'now and again'
;D
-
In all seriousness, I am sure he will see this post and respond, he runs this site ;)
you could send him a pm to be sure.
-
Yep....send a Pm to The Boy.....
I take it that Groses could not sort you out then?
-
I know about pm,but I cant send cause im new.
In Vauxhall they said me, that can be throttle sensor. I put a new one, and without any changes. So I dont wanna go there any more.
-
I mean, I put whole throttle, cause it's together with sensor.
-
I think you can send pm's after you have made 1 post, so you are probably ok now :y
-
ok, cheers mate
-
You just have to wait.. "TheBoy" is a busy man. You can also ask Mark... he knows how to check your car as well. Do the Climate and autobox update at the same time - it makes a big difference.
-
Yep....I am a bit further away though in south Nottingham.....Brackley is a lot handier.
I cant believe they said change the throttle body.....they could have carried out a number of live checks to determine the cause.

Hiya,
I'm quite new to the Forum, ( welcome, by the way), and I can assure you that the main dealers should not be your first port of call when you have problems. If you are prepared to trawl through the maintenance sections and then ask for extra info. from members, you'll get all the gen. you need and save yourself a small fortune. And in no time at all you'll be an expert on your 2.6l, and be able to enjoy it to the full.
Cheers,
Bill.

Someone call?
::)
Actually, I know one of the technicians at Grosse's, and he isn't bad tbh
If the EML is on, there is a code.
Cam sensor anyone?
-
Can you describe the light coming on, as there are 2 on 2.2...
-
EML What's that? Cam sensor or coil pack. I have to be sure, cause I dont wanna waste money. The light is orange and looks like this one in the picture http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/Images/eng_man_light_72.jpg

If that comes on, there should be a code stored. You say Grosse's couldn't find any stored codes?
Is it an auto, if so, did they check gearbox for codes, particularly 1700 and 700 codes?
-
That's the manual gearbox. And the guy from Vauxhall service said me, that there is no any codes.
-
To be able to offer further advice, I think I need to see it.
Fancy a blast down the A43 to Brackley ;)
-
all right. when can I come to you? Im off on Sunday and Monday.

Err, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that this was the emissions light. ?

-
Yes, that's exhaust emission control ,but not only. That also is engine electronics and immobilizer.
-
I have been following this thread but now I am a little confused. According to my handbook the engine and immobiliser is the symbol of a car with a spanner through it. Did this come in later models or is there an anomily we should all be aware of when seeing these warning symbols.

I agree with you. The engine management light is the car with the spanner through it. The pic above is emissions. :y

Na thats engine management light and if it flashes whilst ur trying to start the car then it's a immobliser fault...
