Title: Thermostat replacement
Post by: amba on 22 December 2007, 10:04:10
Looks like the thermostat is on its way out as takes an age to reach any form of temperature,so think thermostat is stuck.
How big a job is it to replace as looks like it comes complete with housing, any idea of VX price for parts, expevt labour would be comical so wont ask that.
Thanks guys..looks like a pleasant job for christmas eve if not too cold or wet

Not the easiest job on the v6 - its buried down in the V, and a bolt that holds the transfer pipe on has a 'reputation'

Re cost of replacement. I have just bought thermostat genuine VX cost £42.71 inc VAT. Doesn't come with new seal ring, that costs £0.85 inc VAT

I haven't done the job yet, but looks a bit of a sod to do.
