Can i change this if i bought a genuine VX one, i'm not a complete numpty just spent my life doing electronics instead of cars.
Is it easy to get to? Is there much in the way of setting up to be done, do i need a tech 2 to do it?
Thanks as always

easy job. cambelt cover needs to come off, and the 'ecotec' plastic needs to come off. Thats all.
-
Sound ;D thanks for that :y
How do i know that the one i buy is a genuine one if i don't get it from a VX dealership?
There's a couple of places on fleabay that have them and prices seem to vary wildly

I try to buy most parts for my 2.2CD from Autovaux website WWW.AUTOVAUX.CO.UK
They are pretty good, if you cant find the part on their website, ring them and they will sort it for you.
Take TB's advice, changing the Cam sensor is easy! hardest part is removing cambelt cover.
Once you have removed the black Ecotec strip, unplug the black connector at the front of the engine block, this is your connector to the cam sensor.
When you have removed the belt cover look between the top two toothed pulleys and you will see a Tourx bolt, this is the retaining bolt for the cam sensor! Take care not to lose it within the cam belt area.
Good luck.
Jonny
PS Keep the site updated on how you get on.

Most places will sell pattern. Autovaux seem to claim genuine for most parts, but the reality doesn't always match their promises.

Lots of photos please. Even if it's a simple job, there are plenty of people on here, like me, who haven't done one before and to have pics of what to expect will make the job far less daunting. :y :y

::)Hi - please let me know how you get on. I tried to do mine and I couldn't get the old one out. Everyone said it just pull up and out after removing the retaining screw. Well mine would not come out.
I look forward to seeing how you go on.
Good luck - I hope yours comes out easy

Its fiddly, wiggle it backwards and forwards, side to side and it will come out eventually!
