It looks like the nearside rocker cover gasket has decided to leak again.Had the gaskets replaced about 3 months ago with genuine GM gaskets as I bought them from Autovaux and got my tame mechanic to fit them.
Was always suspicious of his ability as he fitted them once and and within days they leaked again..came back with the usual "warped covers"..so bought replacement covers/gaskets/o rings and black sealant..he did the job again with no labour charge but here we are again.
If he did not cleaned the breathers out as i suspect is now the case, would i be correct it assuming that any amount of breather cleaning now will STILL require gaskets done yet again...or might i get away with just a good clean and hope they hold.

The autovaux ones are not genuine....and have a habit of leaking again.............despite them saying they are genuine.
Do check the breathers first though, the gaskets are rubber and if the crank case is pressurising then it will leak and recover once fixed.

If I do a thorough clean of entire breather system(although i did pay a few months ago to have it done??) would i be correct in hoping that the gaskets will stop leaking..if so do they need to be retightened or is that compounding the problem..the plug area on nearside rear plug is the one that seems to have traces of oil around it..i give it a blast with aerosol Gunk and a light rinse about once a week but now this is not a fix

Best fix is to do what i did mate..
I bought a pair of vectra v6 metal rocker cover's and vaux gm gaskets.. the plastic ones warp under the heat so if you get the metal vectra ones they don't warp and are a much better fit... it's always the heat that causes them to leak...

So am i correct in saying that as i have had cam cover gaskets replaced very recently i might get away with just a good clean of the breather system and they MIGHT stop leaking...or is it false hope and we are back in for gasket replacement again

The gaskets are rubber and gm ones are soft, so they don't really "break" or wear. You may well find it will settle down if you can get the breathers clear...
