Title: Questions about omega elite
Post by: Ian_D on 30 December 2007, 01:37:38
Hi,

I know that in the elites, the front seats normally are memory seats, as well as the mirrors.

what about the elite models that have the sport seats fitted?

also is the internal mirror the auto dim type if sport seats are fitted? :-?

ta

Hi,

Could be wrong, but as far as I know Vauxhalls offered for a limited time to have the MV6 front sports seats (very rare) as a no cost option against the normal Elite leather front seats (the rears seats being the normal Elite type).

therefore they would perform the same as in the MV6 leathers, ie, manual adjustment with electronic height adjustment only.

No doubt some one is going to tell this is wrong?

Chris.

Yup....sports seats on the Elite (facelift only) result in no memory function.

Thats correct...i have standard 1998 elite..it has recaro leather sport front seats which only adjust up/down electrically and are both heated(at present the drivers side doesn,t work but have a new heater mat and a leather trimmer that is going to fit it in the new year)the rear seats are standard leather which are heated.Regarding the interior mirror it is standard..ie..not photochromatic.but i also have plans to replace that with an auto dimmer in the new year...assuming the wiring is in place under the head linning ??hope that helps

Auto dip mirror standard on Elites, unless the Sports seat option taken (in which case you get a standard mirror, and standard door mirrors).

What else was standard on Elite comparing to MV6? Electric seats.. Something Else? Thought all Elites have got Premium Bose Sound System?

Prefacelift (and retail) MV6 spec was around CDX spec, minus the cruise.

Facelift MV6 spec is similar to CD spec.

Elites will have better sound (Bose from 98, Philips earlier), memory seats/mirrors (unless sports seats fitted), Carin satnav on 3.0l (from 98), leather on 3.0l, rear sunblind on saloons, self levelling suspension, Xenon Headlights from 98 (also fitted to MV6 and later CDX facelifts), cruise control (also on CDX)

So basically one and only difference between Elite and CDX before '98 is..Memory seats/mirrors and self-leveling suspension? Or is it on 98 onwards as well? What about self leveling headlights? 98 onwards? Had it on MV6. And had elec rear sunblind on '94 CD..

Self levelling headlights are always present with Xenons regardless of model. It's a construction and use requirement with this type of light.

In addition, facelift MV6 doesn't have a sunroof.

MV6 has lowered suspension.

TB..can you advise what you mean by standard door mirrors?/mine are colour coded and electric with heating but think it is only the drivers side as cannot see a heater sign on passenger side.
Think have been advised before but if i replace standard interior mirror with auto dipping will the electrical connections just be a straight "plug /n/play" or do i need to add wiring..found a how to in general so advise would be appreciated
