Title: 3.0 v 2.5 camcovers
Post by: MartinP on 01 January 2008, 16:35:24
Are they the same?

EPC shows different part numbers, is this only because they are in different engine sections or is there a physical difference?

As I understand the heads are the same with higher lift cams in the 3.0ltr

comments please

Pretty certain heads are different, so probably covers different.

Thinking about it, 3.0 has different bore to 2.5, so heads will differ.

There the same......only difference on the heads is the dish in the combustion face....its a bit larger on the 3.0.

The cam covers are the same, the 1mm difference on 3.0 cams dont affect the covers and neither will the slightly increased size bores...the heads size and shape themselves are the same...

Thanks,

Any idea why they have different part numbers on EPC?
