hi had my car checked at opel today and this number is the faulty part
90565931
has to do with the xenon auto dipping, think it might be the front sensor but dont speek the local lingo and the wife isnt very technical all i got off her was that it was something in the front :-?
how much am i looking for a new one? / ebay?
Also the garage said there was no rear sensor only a front one im sure ive read on here that there is one? Could it just be a translation problem or is there really only a front one??
-
I assume you are getting HID field of vision on the display?
In which case its a level sensor and there is one on the front AND the rear.....
-
if its the level sensor there is two of them bud and they are about £50 from vauxhall ! one on passenger side front bottom arm and one on the rear suspesion arm ! ;D
-
yeah been getting fld vis low or something similar, it passed its mot with it so wasnt to concered so waited till i got to poland worked out a tenner to get then to diagnose, so will look out for a replacement front sensor i presume there easy to replace ie no calibration or anything?
-
This is the P/N for the HID level adjustment ECU, see the diagrams:

Where is this positioned on the car and how much am i looking at??
-
I don't believe its the controller......never seen one fail yet!

Give Vx any system that has an ECU... and they'll want to replace it ;D
-
BTW, is the HID level ECU one of the Tech-II flashable bits? If so (Mark DTM and TheBoy would know) then might not be a bad idea to give it a once-over with Tech-II before condemning it.

would you recomend getting a sensor and trying to replace one at a time to see if it makes any difference? assuming its normally the sensors that go?
-
You can read fault codes etc with Tech2 and carry out actuator tests....if a sensor is faulty then the lights adjust briefly and then show a warning....either way it highlights that the ECU works.
Similarly if a motor is faulty then only one light moves.

Have alook first before buying the new sensor as it may be the adjusting arm has popped off the nipple. :y
Edit: No13 in the diagram

i assume you meen the motor in the light?
my passenger side is definatly lower than my other light at the moment and there both low due to the mech dropping due to fault. could that be the problem and can i just change the motor or is it a new light?
-
yes you can just change the motor bud !! i have a full set of spare sensors and a couple of ecus !! ;D
