Just changes stalks to enable cruise control, which works a treat - no extra bits required. Car already has clutch and break switches - on 2.2 dti cdx.

After change new stalks do not travel very far when you indicate left or right - plus they do not cancel when stearing wheel comes nack to normal.

Question; anyone had this? Or are they not fitted correctly. Might take the outer cover from stearing column off to see.
-
they should cancel as before.  was it a new stalk or second hand because the cancel function does wear out.  Also chek the fitting as the cancellation relies a level being activated by the steering column.

They were sold as new on ebay ( sealed package, they also look new ). I'll remove and reseat then tomorrow. Is the level bit a switch or a manual part on the column or wheel?

-
Could be that the stalk is not pushed fully home in the clip that secures it.

Also, have a look when it's off. There's a small plastic tab in the base of the switch that gets flicked by the steering column to cancel the indicators. Check it's free to move and not broken off.

When I fitted the first time - the plastic tab was stuck in - after a redo - all is well - many thanks
