Title: Steam!!!!!!

Hi all.
I took delivery of my 02 DTi Mig today (what a beauty). I put her to bed for the night & i noticed what i thought to be coolant steam & immediately thought there's a problem, but the steam smells slightly of diesel & comes from a small black box just behind the front offside wheel. Is this normal, as iv'e never had experience of this before.
The dealer whom i bought Mig from says it's from the A/C, because i haven't used it & it's cold weather too.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

I think these beasties have an engine preheater of some description that runs from the main fuel tank.  Check your handbook for further details.....   :y

Iv'e refered to my hand book & i can't see any reference to it, but i think you could be right.
If anyone knows for sure, please let me know. :y

Yup....its the diesel heater......you might want to phone the dealer up and tell them how stupid they are  :y
