Any advice on engine mods for 2.5 v6?
-
Best thing to do is fit a set of 3.0 cams :y
-
or
drop a newer 3.0 or 3.2 V6 inside ;)
will be better than any mod except supercharge or turbo
-
If you fit the 3.0ltr cams while your doing it fit a 4 bar fuel pressure regulator to help cure the flat spot . I did and wow it makes a diff and you get an extra 20bhp. :y
-
daft question but does anyone know is there is a v6 with a blower fitted?
-
on e-bay one time I see a V6 with a supercharger fitted..
-
The 3.0 was produced briefly with a low pressure turbo.
I say briefly because it had a few problems.... ;)
As others have said, fit a set of 3.0 cams, and then you can "chip" it for a bit more power.
But first give it a full serive and clean all the breathers and change the fuel filter. You will be suprised what a difference this can make. :)

The turbo version in the saab didn't have problems....it just had no real gains it was that low blow!

Contact www.jam-sport.co.uk (01604 755529). They have a supercharger kit for the 2.6 V6 that's supposed to be good for 246bhp and 233lbft of torque.

I wish we had resources like this over here.

Interesting. I wonder why they didn't start with a 3.2 in the first place though? :-/

looking at the pictures the car they are using is not a 2.6 !! looks like 3.0 ! 2.6 and 3.2 were drive by wire ?? that one has a throttle cable !! :-/
-
Yes. Either that or they had to ditch the dbw and put a manual throttle body on it?
