>:( >:( :'(
after delivering a couple of bags of mail i return to find this!!!

and a note on my windscreen with some details left by an anonymous passer by, which technically mean nothing cos there's no contact details!!
it was far worse looking that that til i cleaned the fresh powder coating of paint that was there!
white van man missed that middle pedal!!
-
That's really friendly. :(
Hopefully the note from the passer by and a call to the police may help with an insurance claim?
-
Not what you want when you get back to your car >:( >:(
-
Sorry to see that some people just have no heart :-[
Hope you get it sorted ok
all the best
steve.
P,S you know the old saying ( what goes around comes around).
Some one may do the same to them one day.
-
bummer - was this in the sorting office car park then?
-
cheers guys, incidentally, looking at the filler cap notch where you see my brother's arm in the reflection the dent went all the way to the bumper where his hand was kind of aiming in the reflection in the first photo!
this happened on a street where I park to do my first 2 bags, the note had no contact details, but the van's company name and reg details..
"I saw a white 'sanber limited' transit van **03 *** hit your car about mid day 1/10/07"
thats all it said, so i've wrote to the company basically explaining that i found the note, and could they enquire who was working in the area with that van at that time, i've not involved the cops or insurance, I really dont think its worth it
i've pushed the dent out, but its left a couple of light creases and will work on removing his or her paint shortly with the help of soapy water, t-cut and cloths and lots of gentle rubbing, any suggestions on what else might get the paint off without damaging my own paint?? :D
ya never know, the company might be kind enough to pay for a proper repair, and pigs might fly! (and it might actually be a UFO :y)

id be reporting it to the Police, itsanother way of forcing the companys hand, "leaving the scene of an accident"
Any local cctv?
Also pay the company a visit and complain to the person running the show....DEMAND to see the vehicle, ie dont give it time to be fixed >:(

Damned right. They left the scene of the accident and it was only a passer-by that has taken any steps to alert you to it, by the sound of it.

the main dent is out but the creases are there :(
-
I'd put the dent back in before you show the Police!
Kevin
-
I have the photos on my phone, i've decided i'm gonna wait for the company to reply to me first and see what they say
the fact that the note has no contact details of the witness at all suggests its still just my word against his!
either way, it'll have a perfect repair before I sell it :y
-
really sorry to see that..I feel same happened to my car.. >:(
only good thing is that it can be corrected as original but will need painting..Some parts like bonnet is nearly impossible to repair..
-
I'd report it to the police now, get a reference number and explain that you're waiting for a reply and will want to progress things if that doesn't bear fruit.
Kevin
-
yeah but the bonnet is replaceable!
its as simple as this... s**t happens ::) ;D
i was devastated to start with, now i'm barely bothered, and i'm not sure why, probably cos i know i'll have it perfect again soon enough! :D
-
That totally pisses me off >:(...know how you feel, same thing happened to me, some pratt went inot the back of the car, whilst I was at a meeting, 2 dents in the rear bumper and rear boot lid £350 later al fixed, done a pretty crap re-spray on the rear bumper though on one side only.
-
Not sure the police can do anything except record your details!
I know it's hard to swallow, i'd be totally furious if it was me! >:(
I know of nowt to say to help mate, just that I feel for you. :-[
-
at the time i was fuming, especially since i'd been having a pretty good day for once!! Then I just figured it was bound to happen sooner or later, i drive carefully all the time, i park out of everyone's way in car parks, it was my time for this to happen!!
-
I had a very bad experience in tha past. One alcoholic old man from my street start to scratch my car when I buy the mega..
I know him because I catch one midnight.
Trust me wife hardly stopped me.
Another option if I go police I need witness..
Finally I arrange one recording camera for keeping him away..
Now is ok..But still I have hate in my heart..
-
if i'd caught him, he'd have had his keys ripped out of his ignition!
-
I wanted to break his head but I work in government I would loose the job..
-
:)Sympathies. You should'nt have to claim on you ins. If you get no joy legally i can finish the repair & spray the panel at cost only no labour charge, but you'd have to bring it here. :'(

-

-
the scuffing itself is almost gone, its the little creases i cant quite get out, will keep having a go now and again, it doesn't look even a fraction as bad as it heart-stoppingly did when i first saw it!!
-
:y glad to hear its not as bad now sounds like thats a job for a body shop mate if you know any good ones.
-
