Title: Pure Bliss
Post by: peterjohn36 on 15 September 2006, 22:11:57
Have not driven the omega since last Saturday, have been using a Ford transit diesel all this week for work. This morning back to using the omega comfort zone also got to first junction and thought engine had stopped but no the rev counter was showing the engine was on. Apart from the load area of the transit I was impressed with the amount of fuel used over the week, but you cannot have everything.

Yep, I'd have a thirsty Meega in preference to a Tranny anyday!

What gets me is people spend more to get less car, a lad at work two years ago spent over £2000 on a Renault Megane N reg coupe 1600 and that is starting to get tatty now, only good point is the fuel consumption. It is scarey that I had paid 3 years previously only twice for the 2.0 or sold a year later for under 700 extrapolate to 1500 - I know what I'd rather have.

I find I can drive until mentally tired with no physical aches with an Omega

Had to take a peugot 306 on a trip to sunderland the other week and when I got there I could hardly walk. Felt like a cripple for a couple of hours after, bloody small cars.

Comfort is so important my last 6 cars have all been comfortable.

Smallest car I've owned was an astra estate, I was broke and it was going free.

I used the wifes Rover 25 diesel to go to County Durham last week and managed to get nearly 500 miles to a tank which is amazing, however the Omega although older is in a different league where comfort is concerned. One thing that did suprise me is the torque the Rover has I have already increased the boost the next jobs are to remove the internals from the cat and fit an ITG airfilter

So I take it everyone will be in the camping area, what time can you gain access on Sunday?
