Title: Headlight washer part number request
Post by: PMitchell on 07 January 2008, 13:47:14
Hi, can anyone help me out, I need to get a headlamp washer pump to fit my '03 2.6 facelift.  Be great to know the relay part number too.  And if anyone knows it the washer jet assembly part that fits on top of the bumper.

Why, you may ask, because I got round to trying HID bulbs in my projectors and I am definitley not going back to halogen bulbs again.  But I would like to get washers for the front since I understand there are problems with even slightly dirty lenses and HID light.  (I also checked the legal issues - too long to go into, but in short AOK as long as you have an MOT - I don't want to start a long thread on this though, so many areas to discuss)

If there is an alternative kit that does the job, (from another car etc.) that's OK by me, as long as it washes the headlights.  I was planning to drill a hole in the washer bottle and get the pump and seal and enable the wiring as stock, so there is little diference to what Vx would have done.  Seemed a reasonable idea but I have no part numbers.

Look froward to your help.

Many Thanks

Paul

I'd look at the scrap yard & replace the whole bottle complete with pumps. IIRC the bottle is bigger if you have head light washer fitted.

certainly the prefacelift cars have larger bottles if fitted with washers, so as suggested, try scrappies...

OK, thanks, I'll look around the scrappys.  The bottle I have has 6.3Litres written on it and seems quite large already, but I have not seen the one with headlight washers yet, so I may be surprised!

Thanks.
