Title: Rear Wheelarches and Rust!

I've recently checked my tyre pressures and I've found that the lip of the rear wheelarches seems to be a good place for detritus to accumulate.

This wouldn't be a problem but on one of the wheelarches there is some rust bubbling up and on the other the paint is flaking off the lip where it rolls round to be above the tyre.

Is this a common issue with the rear wheelarches when the Omega gets on a bit?  I also assume it's something I want to resolve before the entire wheelarch turns into rust and that it's not fatal.

Usual places on prefacelifts is doo tops and wheel arches where rear door meets. Also, occasional bubbles on doors below side strip, probably stone chips...

Rear wheelarches & tops of rear doors, both corrode badly on all models and all years, but a it's a bit like pot luck (or unluck). Wheelarches need tobe washed back to underseal each time you wash the car (ever week or so) to get rid of the build up of gunk, tops of doors are the real problem as the rust very quickly becomes a hole, this is a GM design problem not a 'keeper' problem.
