Title: Which oil?
Post by: waspy on 09 January 2008, 19:15:19
Hi all.
I had a look through the old posts, but i can't see owt in reverence.
I have a 2.2 DTi  & i'm gona change the oil soon & wanted to know which is best? I do have the owners manual, but i think it's best to ask you guys with the experience  :)
I guess a fully synthetic, because that's what i normally use for my cars, but what grade? I do eight mile to round trip to work & back every day, but a good distance at the weekend.
Any advice greatfully excepted.
Pete

But also be careful and very respectful if you dare to mention 'caravans'. Another dubious discussion area on this forum.  ;D ;D ;D

I agree, write up one last oil post, include everything, and we'll FAQ it.

I'm priming Golfbuddy to do the same for caravans, but don't tell him  :-X  (should be safe, he never comes in to this section ;D)

I think this is about the only automotive forum I've come across where the chap from Opie oils doesn't post essays on oil.

I was thinking he'd actually be our first negative actually. Oil threads are one thing. Going on about hydrocracked base stocks and polyalphaolefins is something else.

use the vauxhall semi and if you have the use of a Trade club card then you can buy 3 5ltr cans and get one free, that works out about £7.50 a can. You can also buy 3 get 1 free on 20 ltr Semi Drums and also both sizes in 5/30 fully synth'

This is one of the best oil deals from any supplier and makes up about a third of all Trade Club Sales in the UK

Cheers
