Went to Marks on Saturday - he went over everything with a fine tooth comb. Modyfications suggested by TIS had already been carried out at manufacturing stage.
Sunday - Had to reset the airbag light 5 times.
Code 71 Drivers side airbag sensor lost communication.
Monday - On further discussions with Mark - cleaned up the perfectly clean mutiplug in drivers door.
Airbag light has stayed off all day.
-
Lets hope it stays that way :y
-
In which case, that bugger is going to get bypassed.......
-
I'm wondering as to whether it's worth replacing the drivers door wiring loom.....

Just replace the whole car and get a decent V6 :y ;D

So, V6's don't have Airbags? :o
But AA never goes above 45mph ::)
Is that why the Airbag light comes on ;D

No, its a warning light to tell you you are hogging the middle lane....

Passed the MOT with no advisories :y
Comment was from the tester - he wished they were all like this!
Point to note - had it tested at Nationwide Autocentres, if you've got a Tesco Clubcard you get a £10 discount off the MOT charge.
-
Its the excellent handbrake that swung him.........
-
Congrats on the clean bill of health :y

I thought my Omega had broke earlier.......took it for 2 new tyres.......lazer alignment and extract screw outa rear tyre.
All done....went to pull away and nothing, zilch... :-/
So redid preflight check again.........and i discovered sum person had put the handbrake on :o :o ::)

Depends how much they charged you to start with I guess.......
I believe the 'official' charge is a shade over £50.......but very few garages local to me charge this amount.
The place i took my VectraC to, charges £39.90 with a free keyring led torch ;D (Actually it isnt a bad little torch!)
They are also now advertising, no charge if we fail it :o

Heed my warning......the only cars I ever see with major handbrake issues are autos.......i.e. seized cables, seized pivots etc....

Once a year at MOT, and occasionally at ATS/Kwick-Fit/etc has been OK for me for the last 16 years. ;D ;D ;D ;D
I do take you point though. It's the same reason that TVR cars get the bad press that they get. 2nd car used very occasionally and things sieze up without use. :y

Excellent advice. Been there, done that, paid £250 to get it all working again....

My handbrake is used all the time, but Mark found that one of my pivot joints had siezed, the week before the MOT.
-
I really need to look at handbrakes on both my Omegas. MIT due soon...
