Title: How many wires?

Does anyone know how many wires feed into the power sounder?  I've seen a picture of one on this site and it seems to have 4.  However, the cable that I have just cut only has 2 wires in it.   :-?  It has still solved the problem of the alarm going off though, albeit neither of the sounders work now.

It should be 4. Sounds to me like you have cut off the main sounder, and the power sounder is knackered anyway, so it it still setting the alarm off but there's no sound.

I'd take the scuttle cover off and sort it out properly, TBH.

Think your'e right.  Was hoping to put it off as have kitchen, bathroom and bike to work on at moment to, but might as well sort properly.

It's not a huge job. Remove the wiper arms and a few screws, and the quarter turn plastic clips under the edge of the windscreen rubber seal.
