After a couple of well-laid plans going to waste, I've got myself the perfect car. 2.6 MV6, on an 02 plate, full VX service history... about 72k on the clock (so cambelt kit is first priority). Silver, got everything except leather interior, which bothers me not one iota...
Going to pick it up later in the week, once he's put new tyres, and a couple of niggly bits right... and cleaned it of course.
Expect a lot of questions from me, after I've dug thorugh the existing topics of course.
Regards
Pete

Barclay Motor Company, in Birmingham. They have some nice motors there - Audis, BMWs new and old... and a newshape Jag XJR. In black. With huge multispoke wheels. I'd not fancy one myself, but being in black, that thing had presence.
Was up for £4995, I got him to include a basic service, pair of tyres, balance and tracking all round, and a couple of other bits... not a bad price, I reckon, considering the amount of kit its got...
I'll get some pics when it's clean, they're going to do it inside and out, but then it'll get the works as soon as I bring it home. I like my cars to be clean enough to show up sweat handprints... :)
Set off at about half three this morning, having finished work about 2... had about six stops on the way down for Red Bull, fresh air and a walk, and still had two hours to kill. Test drove it (awesome), talked figures, settled on a deal.
I'll be going down maybe Thursday, then I've got Thurs and Friday nights off work, and Sat'days my 20th. So for at least a day, I'll be 19... with a V6. :D

Good buy :y Hope you enjoy it :)
Leather tbh is a pain......cold in the winter.....altho you have heated seats.....hot in the summer....and easily marked/scuffed.
Tho i keep looking at 3.0L mv6's estates and discount them if they havent got leather ;D ::)

Sounds great good buy :y
i hope you get a good quote on the Insurance, may be a little costly :-?

Have no fear, it was the price of insurance compared to my Almera that attracted me as a serious buyer... £1250/ year. Yes, that's a lot. But it's a grand for a 1.5 Almera... :D
Good on you mate. Take it easy in the wet now won't you ::) :D
Heh, that's what the TC's for... nah, I'll be treating it with kid gloves. As I did on the test drive... where I had my seat set, I couldn't see the speedo without ducking... bit of a shock a couple of times... :D
Cheers guys. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

goin from a 1.5 almera to a 2.6 mv6 be very careful, can be so tempting to boot it now and again, i've shocked myself a couple of times in my 2.0 believe it or not, but that was compared to my 1.0 corsa
£1250 aint too bad given your age

The Tc doesnt help when you are Travelling sideways ;D
But really the speed of the car will surprise you when you boot it, and you will believe me ;)
just be carefull thats all, its very easy to loose the rear end, but hard to control it afterwards :y

Sounds like a nice motor :y
As others have said, take it easy in the wet/ice - I'm guessing at your age (do I sound like grandad!) you have little experience of RWD, which can snap out very quickly

Congrats :y...............as folks have previously mentioned mind out for the rear end sideways action :y

Again, cheers guys. :D
I'm going to see if my Rospa observer fancies a couple of drives out with me, along with one or two other driving buds... as previously guessed, all my previous cars have been wrong wheel drive. :)
