Hi Folks
This is my first forum so please forgive any lack of protocol. I've been driving omegas for 5 years now and love them. For the last 3 years I've been the proud owner of a 51 plate 2.2cd that was written off and i put it back on the road. Other than drop links the car has been fantastic until now, the auto box is playing up with juddering and lack of forward drive for the first 10 seconds then it runs great. I have been advised that it requires a "range sensor switch" (£455) before any possible additional problems can be identified. Can anyone advise me whether this sounds right and can the part be sourced cheaper. many thanks in anticipation.

Well the description they have given is a right load of cobblers!
The sudegstion is that it might be the selector switch (do the gear chnge lights flicker or all come on sometimes?), if it is then remove the one you have got, open it up and give it a clean out.
Been through any flood water recently?

spot on, the lights flicker and all stay on, is it mounted on the top of the gearbox?

No, its on the passenger side of the box.
One nut to hold the shift lever on, two bolts for the switch and then a big electrical connector.
Its got screws holding the whole thing togther which can be undone to allow access to the internals.

Many thanks, I'll give it a go tomorrow

If you have to replace it as I did I bought one from Parts Gateway £79 Dealer quoted me £235+vat. easy fitted.
