Went to look at a '99 2.5 V6 Elite today for a mate, he thinks that as I now work on mine I'm suddenly an expert - what a mug !! :)
He's not buying it due to numerous electrical problems : Sunroof won't work, only 2 doors central lock, "memory" seat doesn't, only 1 headlight, EML and alternator lights do not work at all etc etc. and the oil level was not even showing on the dipstick !! Basically a poor condition car not even prepared for sale.
However there was one thing that really puzzled me ... the rear passenger side footwell was soaking, but all other carpets bone dry, car was parked pretty level so I don't think its scuttle water than has run back, and header tank was full. I checked the door seals as best I could - all looked ok, no tell tale "flow" stains anywhere. roof lining unstained so not the sunroof.
Question ..... where the H**l does a lot of water get in to sit in the passenger rear footwell ? Got me stumped !!

Rain water drain below pollen filter blocked, 99%, tends to happen to cars which aren't looked after, the outlet is under near side wing, beware the water will stink :y

Sorry, I should read things first.
Maybe the window or even the door has been left open at some time, did the water smell ? :-[

i've got the same problem on my 2000 2.2. i checked the scuttle and there was 3 inches of water in it. i've now cleaned it out and ripped up the carpet in the back, just waiting for everything to dry nowhttp://images.omegaowners.com/forum/yabbfiles22/Templates/Forum/default/thumbsup.gif
Thumbs Up!

Either pollen filter scuttle or sunroof drain.
1) Lift the scuttle flap on passenger side and clear crud out.
2) Open sunroof and gently pour water down the drain hole in the corner. It should emerge from just in front of the rear wheel. If not, its beside all the other wet crap in the rear passenger footwell and need the hose realigned.......... :D

Another good reason for him not to buy it then ... scuttle was clear so has to be the roof drain ..
glad we walked away from that one .. :)
