I've got a 2.2 Omega and its been good as gold until I came off the motorway today stop at a round-a-bout and when the revs dropped it was running rough as hell.. Revs fluctating between 300 and 1500 rpm, but as soon as I touch the throttle its fine..
I've removed the coil pack and theres no oil. The manifold sounds a little rough, cant see any cracks but I can see that a new manifold as recently been fitted and the front studs have been replaced with bigger than standard items. Could a blown exhaust gasket be causing this?
Cheers :y

Probably either an air leak or the ICV. Check both.

ICV is idle control valve just in case you didn't know :-/
-
Do the later engines have an ISCV.. I thought the drive-by-wire system took care of it? gonna go look with a bottle of throttle body cleaner :D

If you dont get any EML,
clean your EGR and ICV using carb cleaner..

The small breather pipe that goes to the ISCV was FULL of crud and so was the ISCV.. cleaned them out and its running much much better!
I didnt even realise the Y22XE had an ISCV :o
Cheers guys! :y
