Title: Exhaust Manifold Gasket
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 08 February 2008, 22:18:58
I am thinking of getting mine done this next week. It is only "Ticking" when cold when warm it has gone quiet.
Other than the Gasket what other things are on the list that I need to get whilst I am at Vauxhall Garage? :y

All new studs, carbide drill to get them out, new head for when the drill slips off, head gasket kit, cambelt kit, etc.  ::)

I'm sure it isn't that bad, but mine have been leaking forever.  Went through MOT so I am NOT keen to do this particular job!

MDTM offers flattened manifolds on exchange.  :y

I just did mine on a 4 pot, in hindsight, i would have got all new studs and nuts, i noticed undoing the nuts undid the studs out in 90% of cases.

Manifold - head gasket (Vx )
Manifold - front pipe gasket (Vx)
Coolant transfer pipe to rear of block rubber O ring
Studs and nuts are optional
Antifreeze

Not going to do it at the cambelt meet then?

Never thought of doing it there Mark to be honest, but sounds like a great idea :y
I will have the experts there to lend a hand if I get stuck too ::)
