remove the discs and look to see if any new scoring on the pads themselves or on the discs? If so you can usually work out were its come from
Any dirt / dust on the callipers pads?
Is the calliper free to move along its slides?
Whats the brake wear indicator like - is it attached to correct side of the pad/s

going to check now will post soon
:y

were they Vx original pads?
I know there is some discussion about filing a taper on the edges of the pads (Vx ones have it already) to prevent squealing , but that doesn't sound like your noise.
-
ians there not vx pads ,but took them out a good clean around the pads and disc went up and down the street sound much better and the grinding has stop well for now anyway , I take it its better using the vx pads ?? :y how much for the front only??
-
I'd stick with it if the noise has gone - probably a piece of rubbish had got trapped.
The Vx pads are actually a pretty good price on TC as I recall (<£15). They also do a pack discs plus pads on TC

i had (pattern, don't tell anyone) in mine for a bit and squealed like hell.
Swapped them out the other week while doing the service and they had hardly worn. They went straight in the bit, OE pads in and no problem
cheers
Andy
( the pads just happened to be in a job lot of Ex-stock i brought so it seem rude not to try them, got to know the competition)

I had pattern on the MV6. Utter rubbish. Pulled them (and pattern discs) off about a month ago and threw in bin, even though little wear.
Nice genuine now, and the brakes are much much better.
