Title: Hunting like mad
Post by: Jay w on 21 February 2008, 12:01:14
For the last few weeks now i have noticed that the miggy hunts a lot, especially when cold, the revs can fluctuate between 1100 and 400 when cold and 500 to 700 when hot.

any ideas? so far i have checked
the seating on the ICV, it has been cleaned and oiled as well
air intake pipework, all in good condition and no leaks
all electrical connections are where they are supposed to be.

this issue is the same on petrol and LPG, which tells me it is induction related.

Blimey.
Thought this was a reference to the landed gentry chasing the wee orange beastie across country. :)

i had tis prob in my old 2.8 Granny, took it to the local ford dealer who charged me £45 for a diagnostic (8 years ago) to be told it could bet this, that or the other, lotta help they were, not! then took it to a guy near me for something else and thought i would mention it, he said "ang on ere mate) come out with this metal tubey thing, replaced mine on the pinto and thats was it, it was the cold start valve, instant fix. try the cold start valve, sometimes aka? fast idle valve?
just a thought!!
