Hi ive had car around 2 years and always the air condtioning system has always worked i'e compressor kicks-in, engine revs slighty higher and all fans turn on, tried a few times the other day turning eco button on/off but compressor just not working nor engine fans or revs change, checked fuses and relays could it be the pump its self? info would be great regards, alex

Could just need regassing mate.
There is a pressure switch on the A/C system, and if its under pressure, it wont allow the compressor to turn on.

That is, you need to get the system re-pressurised at an air con specialist.

Yes, not somewhere like KwickFit who do not have the ability to diagnose faults etc. Nor will they be able to properly service the system.

I was told when your car doesn't have any gas in the air con unit it can make the seals perish, so I would get it done sooner rather than later :y

And if all else fails I have a decent aircon compressor pump here from a 3.0 v6

To check compressor, pull off leccy plug and check power at plug (use meter or bulb to earth). Note which is live feed pin on compressor, then connect live feed from a 12v battery to this and briefly connect other pin to the earth terminal - you should hear clutch in compressor click over (quite loud). No noise compressor knackered - this is usual fault with these. If compressor ok probably requires regassing.
