Title: What's yours called?

I've always pronounced Omega as OH-mega, which my g/f has constantly told me is wrong - should be Ameega or Omeega. I can't change my ways that quickly so the Omega is henceforth known as the Luxo-Barge.

What do you all call yours?

I put the emphasis on the middle sylable 'meee' and NOT at the end ('gah')  ;D

Mines called slick.....because it currently marks its territory until the crank seal is fixed at the weekend.

I usually refer to it as "the beast"............and I'm talking about the car before I get any smutty remarks!! ::) ;D

I'm with you Oh-meg-a. Always seems to cause confusion as most tend to call them Oh-meeg-a. It used to the "Bl00dy Oh-meg-a!"  ;)

I think it's down to where you are from Hence regional accents.I call them omeegas as appose to ohmeegas but i do'nt think there's a right or wrong really.
    Being a southerner now living up north & being all over for a living i hear all local accents & pronounciations, so i guess it's down to the individual.

Well, if you want to be classically correct, Omega is the 24th and last letter of the Greek alphabet. It denotes the hard 'O' sound, as in dope, unlike omicron which denotes the soft 'o' as in top.

So, once you know where the word comes from you only have to ask a greek, (Timbuk) and they will tell you that it should be pronounced OH-MAY-GA.

And, I call mine the Oh-mee-ga.
