Title: Here we go again Auto boxes and towing !

Yesterday i towed my van up to saisbury for its first service , First time i have towed it with my miggy all went wellish :-/ fuel comsumption showed average of 19 mpg :( (up and down on A roads) the problem was when i got to destenation ther was a stong smell of burning oil  :( i is just alittle concern at this because it dosnt usualy do it,
i had the auto oil changed on thurs £75+vat for oil and filter ( is this reasonable ?) cam cover gaskets changed 3mths ago anybody any ideas on what it is or how i can prevent it ?

ATF or Oil / Greese on the exhaust pipes perhaps?

Maybe the cam covers were torqued down too tightly and the seals are leaking again??
