I'm looking to buy a 96 N reg 3.0 elite saloon and cant tell from the pictures of it if it has xenon headlights? My 98 elite estate has got them so didnt know if it was something that came later on or if all elites have them. I'll find out when i go and look at it later in the week but was just curious

i had a 96 n elite estate but it didnt have xenons where as my 97 r elite estate has :y

Proper Xenon headlight (HID) must have jet washers and automatic levelling. So you should see the jet washers under the headlamps, and NOT see a headlamp height adjustment knob on the dash (in the lights cluster to the right-hand of the steering wheel).

Spot on, mini-facelift came in in late 1997, so there will be a couple about on a 97 plate, but generally has to be 1998 onwards.
In adition to HID's, later Elites had, Bose, 3.0's had sat nav & leather as standard, steering wheel controls.

ive just bought a 1998 s reg elite and thats got xenons bose sound systems and crt 700 headunit with built in phone.

Yeah i thought as much it didnt look like it in the picture although in the listing it says it has but never mind. Like i say the 98 S omega elite i have now has xenons,bose,satnav etc but its a bit poorly at the momment with a busted oil cooler so needed another car a.s.a.p while i get it fixed, but yet again quick replys thanks :y

whats the link to the auction? if he says it has HIDs thats false advertsing

Its not an auction its for sale in a local paper,but its not a problem probably just a mistake going to have a look at it later in the week its all 8-)

Isnt it just cheaper/easier to get the oil cooler done? £300 or so and a few hours work at a garage and its sorted...
