slightly off topic, do you still do the chips for the 2.5 V6?

Again, off topic but, how much increase would a chip give me?

My car will be at about 190bhp with the 3.0 cams in - how much will the chip improve this?

What effect does this have on MPG?

What's the price usually?

Are you sticking a different chip in, or remapping on a rolling road?

How does it affect the torque curve?

I would hope you would see around 215bhp as a result, more likely a bit more.

RRP for the standard improved remap is £300.00.  A remap that is slightly off the wall (ie more out and and out gains) is £325.00.  Both of these would be done for £200.00 for the month of October.

MPG is increased to the more efficient way the engine is making its power / torque.

The map is being replace via the diagnostic port of your ecu - this doesnt need to be done on a rolling road.

Torque is improved all the way through the rev range.

HTH.

I am interested, just don't have the car yet  :)

What sort of total cost for doing the work in north Dorset?

Do you have any testimonials?

Anyone on here had it done?

People on here have had our normal chip for the V6 Omega.

I have done a BMW 530d up here in Hull - I am just awaiting his testimonial.

In terms of cost for North Dorset - Its some trek!!

560 mile round trip!  I'd reckon on around £60-£70 for travel - so £260.

Ah, didn't realise you were in Hull. Thought you were Birmingham area for some reason.

Can you recommend anyone around here to do the work? Or is the system M-Tek specific?

I can replace the chips.

Typical gains for the middle of the road option is an end result of circa 40bhp gain and a 70nm gain

I would be very interested aswell, I will be in Yorkshire around the end of the month 30-Oct/2 Nov, (can't confirm exactly until Thursday) would you extend the offer a few days if i book?

What would the cost be if you came to me in Ripon, North Yorks? or perhaps meet halfway!

Still VERY tempted by this!

Is the revised ecu map always written over when placed on a vauxhall tech 2 machine???

As a side note, are you able to do a poultry 2001 1.7DTi Astra G???

The simtec ecu's are quite awkward - generally we have to send these away as we cant read the ecu.

Remember, the chip he has will be set for a 2.5 without the 3.0 cams.

Given that the offer is half the price of a tuning box and if the warranty is finished on the car I would be more than tempted.

Destec quoted me £500 for the same re-map 3 years ago. Power and torque gains aside even with 1 MPG better fuel consumption it pays for itself quickly given the price of fuel.

Yes, my MPG on the 2.5TD tractor increased about 3mpg when I fitted one of Omegatoy's TD chips.

Can't comment on the 2.2DTi though, no experience...
