Title: water leak

hi guys not been on for a bit i have a coolant leak on my 2.6 2002 omega i can smell it steaming of on the exhaust pipes but cannot locate the leak its at the back some where i can not get at back of engine, no water in oil, done a sniff not head, car is running ace, any ideas lads

do a search for heater bypass valve (hbv) my moneys on that

great it will have to go to vx in derby as i have no time any body got a picture or any more options cheers  :y

Have a look in the maintenance guide section.  There is a guide there for HBV - sounds very likely to me.  Get it sorted as when she blows it will dump all your coolant very quickly

yes thanks i have looked at it, its very easy to do but no time,its looseing about 1/4 pint a day i will get it in to vx asap :y
