Hi there, new on here so sorry if this seems a silly or repeated question.
Just bought an Omega auto and i'm getting a warning light in the display below the date/time etc one.
Best way to describe it is its like the Sport mode indicator but with an exclamation mark in the middle.
Have downloaded the owners manual and that doesn't tell you.
Also the idling speeds jumping around a bit and its a bit sluggish when pulling away when this comes on.
Have checked the obvious like transmission fluid etc
Cheers
Steve

That's the handrake / brake/clutch fluid level lamp.
Should be on with the handbrake engaged and go out with the handbrake disengaged. If it stays on after disengaging the handbrake then you need to check the fluid level in the brake reservoir and check for leaks in the braking system.

ok ta
Wouldn't that also light up the Handbrake/Clutch warning light in the main control indicators panel (ie the standard circle with brackets and ! ) though ?
-
Ah! Sorry I misread! That's the one I meant!
I think that one on the display is the brake pad wear indicator..... A circle with two little lines either side? IIRC
-
Not that one either!
Its not in the main warning light bit.
Its in the small panel under the time/date (in between the air vents and the main revs/speedo etc bit)
Its a kind of wavy circle - bit like the Sports mode with the "s" in the middle sign in the main bit, only its got "!" in the middle.

Which model/year/engine is your miggy ??? This might help .. :)

Hi Steve,
In my Omega manual it says and i Quote "Control indicator * in display next to instruments"
Then it shows a picture of the symbol you describe perfectly and written next to that and i quote " Automatic transmission: fault, consult a Vauxhall Dealership(see page 101)It then says see page 29 on which there is the picture below.

Hope this helps,

Pretty certain that is the autobox fault indicator if you do not have a MID/GID/CID.

Tks a lot.
Best get myself to a dealer then.
Although it won't be Crown in Romford as they were useless when i asked them what the problem was
"No idea mate - we'll run a diagnostic for 35 quid and that should tell u" was about as helpful as they got
