Had the V6 for 1 month, after 3 days the EML flagged a fault, had it read and nothing found,reset..3 days later flaggd again, read it said purge valve, fixed and reset, another 3 days passed light came on again and this is what i got...
T.C. P0170 FUEL TRIM MALFUNCTION (BANK 1)
T.C. P0173 FUEL TRIM MALFUNCTION (BANK 2)
T.C. P0430 CATALYST SYSTEM EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESEHOLD (BANK 2)
T.C. ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT LOW INPUT
They tested the O2 sensors and the emissions and they were ok,said they could do no more and sent me on my way are resetting light, and guess what happened? after 3 days the light came on,its always 3 days and i cannot figure out why,can anybody shed some light on this or i just might torch the bloody thing,(only joking) i think. :'( :'( :'(

sounds like you need to get live data logs on tech2 matey :y
-
Sorry for got to add it had a tech 2 with live data and this is what it came up with ,the tester said it just needed the ecu update and he was 99% sure that was the problem, well guess what the 1% bit me in the arse. >:(

dont know where you are but you would probably be better off trying to pay a visit to someone from oof who has tech 2 and also knows a lot about omegas :y

I had the exact codes last week (I posted about MAF here), P0170 and P0173. The mechanic said that he had searched for the reason for these two codes on similar engine some time ago and it was the MAF. After codes were read and EML was off I drove only two days and again the EML came on... No effect on the engine, revs ok etc. And yesterday the EML was suddenly off again. I will replace the MAF, 'cause I have ordered one, but if the light stays off I will postpone the change until it lights up again.
So, you might have the same fault, your air mass flow meter is dirty/defect and you could try replacing it. The third code will probably go off at the same.

Thanx for the info,i will try that and see if that works. ;D

No.....there is jack all in any of those codes that points to the MAF and if it had been diaged properly then the live values would have been viewed and checked to confirm that.
My concern is the coolant temp sensor fault code you have so start here.....the lambda sensors have no chance if the engine map is permanently on the warm up cycle!

Then what is wrong with my engine? What else than MAF could cause codes P0170 and P0173? The third I had was clearly crank sensor, which was replaced, and after two-three days the EML lit up again until yesterday it went off.

I am replying to Interman....its his thread :y

Yes it is and sorry for trying to steal it, but we both still have the two same codes...

Thanx for all your help,i went for the cheapest item which is the coolant temp sensor, only cost £14.00.fitted it,cleared the codes and now have to wait to see what happens,as soon as i find out if it works or not i will post back, ive got my hands together, but am i that lucky.Well are you punk, have you changed 6 parts or only 5,i cannot be sure,so go on "make my day". ;D
