Post by: kevinv6 on 26 February 2008, 22:57:29
anyone come across this problem before with there omega. my n/s/r taillight not workin. changed the blub but theres no power supply but the front n/s is working fine im sure they work on the same power supply checked fuses and they all fine.

i ran a live from the o/s/r to get it working for time being but the check lights on and warning me i got a blub out. i have a v6  cdx 1999 model.

any ideas anyone, all other blubs are in working order. starting to bug me now lol

The systems are sensitive to bulb type, ie prefer VX genuine rather than Lucas or similar as that then shows as a 'check tailight' failure on the computer display.

May be worth trying a gen VX blub in there before condeming the system completely....

Is this checked with a multimeter ?? or just no power to light a bulb ??

If its with a multimeter you have a broken/disconnected wire somewhere .. and its time to start tracing the wire back, testing (with a meter) at every join. You can get tester probes with very sharp "needle tips" that can be used to prod through insulation to check for voltage in order to trace a break in the cable.

ill wack my muti meter on it and check the volts and let you all other blubs are fine. i checked them all cause i know you can get led ones which throws the comp of  :)

it was tested with a snap on electrial tester which either shows as power or earth but it had neither.
