can some one help me every time i lock my car either with the remote key fob or with the key it locks but the indicators sometimes stop on! if i press unlock a couple of times it sorts its self out. But now its started doing this on its own i can lock the car and the indicator lights are off but come back to it couple of hours later and there flashing or on permanent. this is causing my battery to go flat. some one told me that its the central locking ecu at fault can any one confirm this before i spend nearly 200 pounds at vauxhall for a new central locking ecu.

Check the hazard switch first, turn it on and off 20-30 times to wipe the contacts.

will try this but dont think its the hazard switch thats at fault as its been to vx in the past with the same fault. its more like alocking problem cause when u lock the car the indicators only flash on the left hand side which is the side that stick on.
-
still playing up tried what the person said above with no joy came out of work to find the battery flat. you can here a relay clicking somewhere in the left front foot well but didnt think there was any relays up there isnt indiactor relay cause it still plays up with that removed and isnt hazard switch as still does the same fault with it removed

Ok, one step at a time and given that all the indicator functions go via the hazard switch that is the first place to start.
Behind the glove box is a line of relays, check the third one from the left...it looks to have six pins and is K46 (turn signal lamp relay). It has 3 red wires, 2 black/white wires and 1 Black/green wire to it.
I would tempted to replace this because if it was the ECU then both sides would stay on.......a second hand one might be a nice cost affective approach at this stage as I have never heard of one fail before.
Do also check the wires in this area for damage to...

is the glove box easy to remove? do i need to disconnect the battery as ive got a passanger air bag above? will my indicators still work if i remove this relay?
-
You can just about get at the relays with the glove box still in if you remove the cover above the passenger footwell.
For the time being, just pull the relay as its only related to the alarm function....nothing else.

my problem isnt with the indicators staying on when u use them its every time u lock the car the left indicators stay on but the right doesnt flash or stay on and u can here a relay clicking as if its stuck on!

thank you mark

right ive had most of the passanger foot well apart and i carnt find any relays at all there removed the black cover under glove box and had a look there pulled carpets back and still carnt see anything. really getting on my nerves now.

The relays are up behind the glovebox towards the door side, you may have to use a mirror and a good leadlight, the 'servotronic relay' is also located up there (I found it as easy to remove the glove box).
