Title: help with a diagnostic code, p1130

Hi all,
        the eml light keeps coming on on the dash of my 2001 2.2 cd. It seems to come on for a day or so and then just turns itself off.Driving the car seems totally unaffected. I borrowed a code reader and it came up with code p1130, which says heated oxygen sensor malfunction, bank 1?? Does this mean i need a new oxygen sensor, and if so, does bank 1 mean there are 2 on the car? Where would the bank 1 sensor be?

Hi, when I bought mine it did the same thing.
Bought a cheap tech2 and came up with the same code.
However when I checked the service history the oxy sensor
had recently been done. So although the car ran fine the light
was anoying.Eventually I took the throttle body off and found the small hole where the vacuum pipe connects was blocked good and proper.
Cleaned and unblocked the hole and no more eml light.
So its worth a try even if its not the problem its worth cleaning anyway, and its not a difficult job.There is a guide on here in the guide section.

A good tip.

What can happen is at idle the crank case pressue can rise due to the blocked breather which can increase oil consumption slightly....and the 02 Sensor wont like it.

So start with the throttle body clean as

1) It probably wants doing anyway
2) Its easy and cheap!

Thanks for the replies!
 I've taken the throttle body off and cleaned it approx 5 months ago when investigating an idling problem. Recently i did have the problem of the rocker cover gasket leaking into the spark plug wells so maybe another clean out of the breathers and a general look over may help?
