Title: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Post by: RichardH on 02 March 2008, 11:48:12
Under the bonnet of my 2.2 diesel is this plunger like thing.  It looks like it gets pushed down when the bonnet is closed.  Any ideas what it is?  I don't remember seeing it on my last car which was also a 2.2DTI.

Thanks,
Richard

Lock the car having released the bonnet catch, then lift the bonnet and see what happens.
Did this to mine, and yes it did work!

And it looks slightly bent off the vertical....which can cause false alarms so straighten it up.
