I have a problem, whenever i start my car the Radio goes on by itself and the message EXT. IN gets stuck, so as the radio is running, i can switch it to the tuner or CD with no problems, but when i try to switch it off, it doesnt respond even when i turn the ignition off and remove the key, so the only way to switch it off is to remove the panel.
Now, while the panel is removed and car is turned off, the Radio consumes 8 VOLT from the battery, so eventually after 4 hours the battery goes dead, i went to my local distributor to fix the problem, they said that the controller is damaged and i have to replace the whole thing.
i tried to figure out a way to unplug the RADIO as a temp solution, but i couldnt know how?!?!
any suggestions or help will be so much appreciated.
Thanks

Check the mute lead on back of radio, though I'd expect that to mute radio.
Do you have phone kit wired to stereo, or traffic master etc? Try disconnecting these.

yah the phone is wired to the stereo, im not sure on how to get the whole radio out(CCRT 2008), i've seen a screw underneath the panel.
i'm sorry im new to this, so if you could bear with me here.

I assume you're not UK? 2008 is rare in UK, but I imagine comes out same way as 2006 - undo 4 grub screws, insert removal tool, and pop it out. Remember you will need the radio security code when you refit.

Yah not in U.K, Well, i couldnt see except the one screw underneath the panel.

In each corner of the stereo itself, is there a hole?
-
ok i managed to get off all the screws (4) at each of the corners and the one in the middle, now the question how to pop it out?

There are common removal tools for this unit....

Most auto shops should sell.
Failing that, can be done with 4 nails, but I'd recommend the proper keys if you've not done before.
