Title: Plugs for 3.2 ?
Post by: Big_Roger on 12 March 2008, 21:27:10
Hi,
I bought set of spark plugs for my 3.2 from Vx. They supplied me with FLR8LDCU which is 2 electrode plug,

The plugs I removed are FGR8KQEO which are 4 electrode.

They say they supplied listed plugs.

Anyone know which is correct?

Roger

2.6 & 3.2 should be fitted with 4 electrode plugs. Vx parts counter strikes again! >:(

The 2 electrode plugs will be OK. In some respects they are better than the 4 electrode but should be changed at 40,000 miles instead of 80,000. Make sure the thread, washer and length are the same as the existing ones, just in case they've sold you something totally different.

4 electrodes only extend the theoretical life of the plug, they can also shiled the flame front so actulay can produce worse results.

Hi Gents,
Thanks for the help, I'm happy to leave in the 2 electrode plugs in now.
