can anyone help,i just got a 2.5 cdx with gas convertion,and the thing will only drive into 2nd gear then loses all drive,topped up the fluid but still not any better,so looking for any thoughts,ta :)

Does it drive manually?

Have to driving it for long with it slipping badly?

i got it like that,doesnt drive manualy,if you go thru the gears it gets to 2nd then just wont go to 3rd

Does sound like its the box but what about gearbox selector???

if its the box am just gonna break the car,its a p reg but mot till oct,taxed till end of the month,got it cheap from a workmate,i'll put the gas on one of ma other migs. :)

Check selector switch lights up right, else suspect the box is fubar.

it does light up right,but when i went to put fluid in,the fluid that was in there was kinda discoloured,nearly black :(

not good i would try a complete fluid change personally. have you taken both sumps off to see if there is nothing nasty hinding inside?

to be honest,i didnt want to spend a lot of time on it,if it was something simple i would have fixed it but looking like terminal so think i'll just break the car,so if anyone needs anything.

why dont you drop a replacement box in it. looking about £150 to do that your sure to get more for her then if you sell her.

i picked up a second hand box £80 oil £40 and seal&filter £40. and a days work with two people. its not that hard to do just manual labour and big arm muscles required.

can anyone help with where to get the filter and gaskets to do a service on the autobox,i went to dealer an was quoted £58 for the filter an £15 for the 2 gaskets,surely someone does them cheaper,and would post them to north of scotland? >:(

Jpat £40 for the both gaskets and the filter and post next day del.

also let them know your a OOF member and they will give you club discount.

just google them.
