Title: Cambelt "Stupid mate left the car in bits"
Post by: peter hing on 15 March 2008, 11:01:14
I got my omega back in Oct.  Love the thing, more comfortable than the Supra, in fact more pleasant to drive too.

I was servicing my car and noticed that there was oil in the plugs.  After research on the site i have changed all the rocker gaskets.  Quite an achivement for me :D

My mate who is always working on his car said that he would do the cambelt for me.  I thought what a good idea, i have no knowledge of when it was last done.  So along came the friend he has taken the belt off, locked the "top bits" off. After 4 weeks its still not put back.  Not even sure if he knows what he is doing?  My question is does anyone live near Peterborough/Wisbech that would be able to assist in putting the car back together. I would be ever so grateful as i miss driving the Omega.  :'(

I concur - the DVD will allow you to do it.  Easier than rocker gaskets ;)

You do need to change entire cambelt kit, not just the belt.
