Depends on how you have been driving it
If you've been driving it hard, and suddenly start driving like a granny, the range will shoot up
I find mine really accurate, as long as you take into account your driving style has a huge impact on the reading.

Been driving it like a granny for the past few days so the range has already done its climb up a mountain!

don't be so sure, I've had my old V6 splutter when it read three miles remaining....
Saying that, I've had them do 17 miles after the 0 !!
Not good to run them this low though, and I don't with my facelift.

The least I've run mine so far is to 40 miles left on the range, nothing less...
Tomorrow will be the ultimate test...

I've had 18m out of the MV6 (when I got on the M40 once without looking a fuel gauge) with range on 0.
I've had the tractor stutter at range of high teens still to go. So don't risk it!
-
When I last ran my Omega down to 4 miles left on the range, there was still about a gallon left in the tank.
-
The low fuel light is probably the best indicator when you get that low. Mine does at least another 30 miles with that on.

.... with a petrol can in the boot??? ::)
-
No petrol can. MID was telling me I still had range and I believed it. Then the fuel light started flashing so I lost my nerve and filled up.

Loads left once light starts flashing.
The 18 miles I did in the MV6 after it read 0 miles, still only got about 72l in...

don't you have to get home again afterwards? ;)
