its normal on v6`s on short runs particularly in the cold weather. do you do a lot of stop and starts from cold / short journeys? advice elsewhere on the forum suggests you clean it up as and when you notice it and make sure you take the car out on a longer journey / motorway blast from time to time:

as said above the mayo is normal if car does short journeys,it also sounds like you will need to clean breathers and change cam cover gaskets in the near future ,otherwise the oil wil start damaging plug leads/dis pack :y

remember, breathers likely to be similar, so clean them ;)

IME, Vx oil seems to suffer less than many others, no idea why.

Ok further investigation done, took the oil filler cap off and there is a smell of fuel coming from the oil cap tube, also need filling with water in the cooling system quite regularly, average ever 8 days or so. :-[

heater bypass valve

the mayo sounds like a bit of condensation build-up, from the short journeys, give it a motorway run and see how it is afterwards

A HG failure would not cause that.
