Post by: Richie London on 24 March 2008, 17:07:37
ive noticed that when i put my hand round the back under the scuttle that the hbv moves about, is this correct or is it meant to be fixed to something, im looking for a leak but cannot feel any leaking pipes. not anywhere.

The HBV should clip to a flimsy bracket, often seem to be loose. I doubt it's a problem

The HBV should be clipped to a bracket, (on the engine, I think), and although not being so doesn't affect performance, it does mean it's supported only by the various flexible pipes attached to it. It's 'Sod's Law' that one of these will eventually fatigue and split, so keep your eye on it.

thats probably where my leak is then, i cant feel anything but see what drip down on the floor when i look under the car. has to be one of them pipes then, hbv seemed dry. i think i lose it when im driving and not just idling. i was going to work on it this weekend but its been cold and rotten so could not.
